UF/IFAS Extension Bay County to host breakfast celebrating local agriculture

Bay County residents are invited to attend the annual Farm-City Breakfast on Wednesday, Nov. 18, from 7:15 to 9 a.m. at the Callaway Arts and Conference Center, 500 Callaway Parkway. The free event will celebrate the contributions of local farmers, ranchers, producers and agricultural businesses.

Held in recognition of Farm-City Week, Nov. 18-25, the annual breakfast highlights the important relationship between rural and urban communities and their shared role in maintaining a safe and plentiful food supply.

This year's event will feature a presentation titled "From Hobby to Business," designed to help individuals explore opportunities to turn their agricultural and cottage food interests into income-producing enterprises. Topics will include considerations for starting a business, registration requirements, available financial assistance and Florida's cottage food regulations.

Whether attendees are considering a small agricultural venture or preparing to expand an existing hobby into a business, the presentation will provide information and resources to help them make informed decisions.

The morning will begin with coffee and conversation at 7:15 a.m., followed by a complimentary pancake breakfast at 7:30 a.m. Opening ceremonies and welcoming remarks will begin at 8 a.m., with the featured presentation scheduled for 8:20 a.m. The event will conclude at 9 a.m.

The Farm-City Breakfast is free and open to the public, but registration is requested.

Residents may register online at https://bit.ly/FarmCity2026.

The event is presented in partnership with UF/IFAS Extension Bay County, Bay County, the Florida Farm Bureau and the City of Callaway.
